Dear Members,

Some of you may know me from the court, where I spend most of my time helping our youth coach, Martin, manage players, tournaments, and all the other little things that keep the club running smoothly.

I am in regular contact with our coaches and Henrik Fjordvald regarding gym schedules, events, sponsorships, and the collaboration between our teams—Silverbacks and Gorillas. One of the ideas Henrik and I worked on that I feel has been a great success is bringing our U16 boys to join the Silverbacks for Friday night games.

We’ve also taken the next step by having a Silverback coach the U16 boys on Saturdays, strengthening the bond and collaboration between the teams. This growing sense of togetherness is something I’m really proud of.

As a parent of two boys who have been with the club since its founding, I’ve seen firsthand how far we’ve come. Now, I’m putting myself forward to join the board because I want to gain a deeper insight into the club’s operations and help improve the structure between senior and youth basketball.

Most importantly, I want to bring renewed energy to the board and the club as a whole to continue building a stronger and more united community.

Candidate Statement:

I fell in love with basketball in the second grade, and it has been a big part of my life ever since. After many years away from the game, I started playing again here in Ørestad. Through basketball, I met a great group of guys, and we decided to join the Ørestad Silverbacks men’s team together. A select few of us are currently playing league games in the DBBF (Danmarks Basketball Forbund).

My daughter also plays for the Ørestad Gorillas kids’ team, which I have coached in several tournaments. A few months ago, we also started an all-girls team, where I am coaching as well. I have been a member of the club’s board since 2020, giving me the longest tenure among the current board members. I want to continue in this position to making basketball fun, and help grow the sport for both adults and kids in Ørestad, on and off the court.

Candidate Statement:

Nine years ago, I started playing basketball for fun. That same year, I attended my first NBA game—Denver vs. Indiana—where I watched a young Jokić face off against a prime Paul George. Ever since then, I’ve loved basketball. The sport has always been a part of my life in some way, especially with my father having played for the Iraqi youth national team.

When I moved from Jylland to Copenhagen a little over two years ago, I immediately found out about the Silverbacks and joined the club. I love being part of the group because of the sport, the people, and the great leadership behind the scenes, especially from Henrik. I would love to contribute to the development of the club. Among other things, I would work on getting selected members of the Silverbacks to compete against other old boys’ teams
